This 180 acre site has preliminary DA approval for a self sufficient eco village with 161 residential lots plus a commercial area.  The number of sites may increase at full DA stage.  The site is 300 metres from the beach.  It can be developed as residential blocks or house and land packages.

The village centre comprises shops, a health centre, school, produce centre, village green, car parks and landscaped plazas.

Home parcels are clustered around communal landscapes to create eco-hamlets of six to ten homes.  

Approximately 70% of the site will be retained as open space. 

The Hervey Bay Council is likely to be supportive of a resort style complex on the site.

Toogoom, population 791, is 294 kilometres north of Brisbane.  It is a seaside village on the shores of Hervey Bay, a well known holiday destination and retirement centre.

The median house price in Toogoom is $460,000, having risen by 4.4% in 2006, 15.6% in 2007 and 5.6% in 2008.  The predominant age group is 50 to 59.  75% of houses are owner occupied.
